O`KEY Group S.A. (LSE: OKEY, the “Group”), one of the leading Russian food retailers, and SberMarket, a nationwide food and necessities delivery service, have signed a cooperation agreement that will see SberMarket start accepting, assembling and delivering orders from O'KEY hypermarkets.
Initially, the SberMarket service will cover O'KEY hypermarkets located in four cities: Omsk, Ufa, Rostov-on-Don, and Nizhny Novgorod, with the coverage area planned to further expand going forward. The e-catalogue of items to order through the SberMarket website and mobile app will feature more than 17,000 food and non-food SKUs, including ultra-fresh products, groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, confectionery, ready-to-eat meals, drinks, children's goods, and staples, and will offer the same prices as the hypermarkets, including discounts and promotions.
We leverage integrations with specialised services to secure additional sales channels, increase our product delivery footprint, and reach out to new audiences. Earlier in Q2 2020, O'KEY kick-started cooperation with the iGooods service, which now delivers our hypermarket items to customers in Yekaterinburg, Tyumen, Surgut, Rostov-on-Don, and Krasnodar.
O'KEY Group was also the first Russian retailer to launch its own delivery service, okeydostavka.ru, back in 2015, and has been actively growing it ever since. In Q2 2020, the service ramped up its throughput capacity to meet increased consumer demand as online sales surged by 77% and 86% y-o-y nationwide and in Moscow, respectively.
Armin Burger, Chief Executive Officer at O`KEY Group:
“One of our key priorities today is to expand omni-channel capabilities, which can only be achieved by tapping into synergies with our partners. Through our projects with SberMarket and iGooods, we will be able to provide even more customers with fresh and high-quality products at competitive prices in the fastest delivery time possible.”
Artur Sarkisov, Chief Operations Officer at SberMarket:
“We are happy to announce our partnership with O`KEY, one of the most popular brands among Russian consumers. I am confident that our customers will appreciate the convenience of the service and the quality of order picking and delivery ensured by procurement experts and couriers from SberMarket.”
